Description
Body: Faint maple syrup.
Foot: Aged tobacco.
Cold Draw: Dried cherries and aged tobacco.
Tasting Notes: In the first third and true to the tasting notes on the band I start with vanilla, deep oak and the sweetness on the tongue that is also a bit like baked goods and reminds me of shortbread cookies. The oak is dark and there is a slight salt as well. Black pepper tingles the tongue while the retrohale satisfies thoroughly with pepper and oak as well. Creamy, rich smoke seems to be a recurring theme with the Privada spirits collection. Further in the shortbread cookie gets toastier and almost burned but in a good way.
In the second third I get a light cherry flavor and sweetness along with oak, white pepper, aged tobacco, slight pine and a cashew butter creaminess that is delightful.
In the final third I get a beautiful cherry wood, salt, cream, vanilla, shortbread cookie and white pepper on the retro. The cigar reminds me of a bourbon barrel overall and is simply a gem of a cigar alone or paired with bourbon. I also get faint notes of pine and the smoke is now powdery at the very end. Easy on the palate but full on flavor.
Pairing Notes: Bourbon. Dried cherries. Cherry pie. Root beer. Apple pie. Medium roast coffee. Cream soda.
